After some advice please. I admit to being very lazy with washing I do tend to throw most things in together due to not having much free time.
My little boy just started nursery. I washed his jumper a sweatshirt type one with his clothes yesterday only his clothes where in the machine I put it on a 40 wash which it said was fine on the label. When I got it out it was full of bobbles. Its brand new so going forward I will have to just hand wash this.
Just wondering if anyone has any other tips? he also has white polo t-shirts which I washed on there own. What should I use to keep them nice and white? I use persil non bio powder at the moment. Is liquid better? I want to keep his uniform looking nice for as long as I can.
Thanks for any advice.

What do you mean by full of bobbles? That the outer surface is no longer smooth or that it left residue on the other clothes?

Coloured fluff shedding off the inside of a brand new sweatshirt is normal. Just run it through a (machine) wash a couple of times. If the outer surface is being damaged I don't know, but hand washing is not the norm. These things get machine washed weekly and most of my eldest's were handed down to sibling after 2 years' wear.

I think this is just due to the quality of the fabric isn’t it? We had one batch of school jumpers that did this and another that didn’t. I washed them just the same. You can use a de- bobbler but don’t nursery clothes end up stained with paint and all sorts and then outgrown pretty quickly anyway?

Yeh like little bits on the outside of the jumper which u wouldnt expect after one wash.

Turn inside out to help reduce bobbling. Most school jumpers will bobble though.

I read on here once to use bio in powder form for white clothes (enzymes help reduce staining)

and then non bio liquid for colours.
