Painting a brass bedstead. Any ideas??

I have a brass bedstead which I do not like the colour of any more. Do you think I could paint it? Would it need a primer/sanding?

What type of paint would you use?

Would anyone like to come and do it? (only kidding)

I have just been given a black Ikea bed in black iron and want to spray it white. I was going to use that black sandpaper that you wet and use a primer and hope for the best.

definitely need sanding i would use a paint for metal

Ooo - will watch with interest. I have an old one I want to redo for DD when she moves from her cot to a bed.

Radiator pain would probably do it.

Coo, 5 messages, that was quick! I hadn't thought of spraying it..that might be quicker.

I could lean it up against something outside (perhaps my neighbours house, I don't like her) and spray away!
