STRIPPED WOODEN DOORS

How do I clean stripped wooden doors?? as they collect dust terribly . They are not varnished but are rough to the touch. I tried washing them but this doesn't really work. Any ideas??

Any rough surface is really hard to keep dust from. have you tried one of those microfibre cloths that you use dry?

I've tried dry dusting and vacuuming and although this lifts the surface dirt/dust I'm still left with a visible mark. I even tried washing them in Pledge floor cleaner for wooden floors I was really optimistic whilst it was wet as it looked like the problem was solved..however, when it had dried the mark was still there.

Even madder suggestion - sand it down?? You say its not varnished but is it oiled or waxed? If not, is there any mileage in a light sanding of the affected area?

Course I am in no way good at this stuff, so don't blame me if it goes horribly wrong. But I know DH used to regularly sand the dining room table to get curry stains off before we finally got round to waxing it..

Yes, I would sand & wax them. We never had any problems with our previous doors which were waxed
