Home security following dv

Gone anon for this one

Local authority have allocated me and my kids a home due to dv from ex, we move in soon.
I've already got police alerts on this house which will follow me to my new one. Ex has been charged but is on bail and his family are trying to get me to drop the charges (I won't). Police fully aware.
I really want to be able to immediately feel safe in the new house. I'm barely telling anyone I'm moving.
Can anyone recommend a good home security system? I've been looking at simplisafe but wanted to know if people who had it could recommend it? I'd defo have professional monitoring.
I'd also want to be able to set the alarm for overnight downstairs for when me and the kids are in bed so it would go off if anybody approached the front or back of the house, but allow us to move around upstairs.

Tia x

I’ve never used it but I keep seeing these adverts about verisure I think it is, not sure they do professional monitoring but maybe that’s something to research? Well done for getting away and I hope you have a better life starting now

I did see verisure but also saw a watch dog about them saying customers will never own the equipment from them, it put me off slightly x

The main thing is what you're doing, not telling anyone where you've moved to. Watch out for friends who act concerned but really all they want is the gossip. People who gossip will gossip about you and then it could get back to him, if you have mutual friends. A fresh start with people who truly have your back and keeping anyone you're not sure about at arms length is best. I'm happy for you that you've escaped.

I don't know anything about burglar alarms though sorry. We had one in our house as a child and they're effective, they do go off if you forget and go downstairs, unless you run and enter the code quickly. There was also a panic button near the front door that could be pressed if you opened the door and someone tried to force their way in. We had a few burglaries before the alarm, not frequently, but once that box with the flashing light was on the front of the house nobody ever tried to break in again. I'm sure whichever one you go for will give you peace of mind.

Contact an alarm company and ask them to come round and advise what they can do.

We have an alarm pad on one of our stairs - if someone steps on it after the alarm is set, the alarm will go off.

We also have a panic button in a bedroom that will set off the alarm.

Have you had it fitted yet @anonymousbob?

Contact the IDVA in your area, they are specialist DV workers and will be able to help you put in place some safety measures and also access various things from the police DV teams.
Independant Domestic Violence Advisors. In my professional experience they are absolutely brilliant. Although have the referring police force referred you on ?

Eufy security is a good system. No monthly payment, can buy it all on Amazon. It easy to set up on your phone.
You can view the cameras live on your phone and set it to record
