What do you all do when it comes to this? Am i right in thinking you bung in a bowl of water for to 'steam' for a while? I am reluctant to use cleaning sprays atm as ds has started weaning and we are using it for his food. So any eco-friendly ideas would be most welcome!

Yes, the water is good, take a while thoug. Shove a chunk of lekno in too as it helps deodorise the smells. Use a non-stick scourer or a paste of bicarb to scour it after.

Another vote for lemon juice in water for about 2 mins - softens all the gunk without chemicals

Only 2 mins? That's pretty good. Though it's not too minging really so I s'pose that'd be about right

I put a bit of lemon in some water then heat for a bit to soften any burnt stuff then make a paste of bicarb and lemon juice or vinegar and wipe around.

I just put a bowl of cold water with a little bit of washing up liquid in in the microwave, and turn the microwave on until the water starts bubbling. The mess just wipes off.

I just put a bowl or cup of water in for a few minutes and wipe all the stuff off. If it's bad and it won't all come off in one go heat the water up again and do it again.

I'm sure though that I read somewhere that its not that safe to heat a cup of water in the microwave as it superheats or something. So only do it for long enough to create steam.
