Cleaning under fridge and freezer

I've recently had mice - pest controller reckons they're gone now. Now I want to clean under my fridge and freezer - both had droppings on top that I dealt with, so I'm pretty sure there'll be droppings behind and underneath both.

What I really want to do is move them both so I can bleach the floor under them and behind.

Is it like when you transport them and have to have them empty/unplugged and then have time for the coolant to resettle before plugging in again - or is it OK just to shift them a couple of metres to clean under them without having to be empty/unplugged/left to settle?

Thanks

Just pull them out as far as you can and give it a clean. When the cat has brought mice in they have made use of the drip tray, so you may need to clean that too. I even found a dead one once wedged between the tray and the motor 🤢

Oh gosh - I'd not considered the drip tray! good shout. To be honest - I'm not even sure where the drip tray is! Should it be OK to pull them out without worrying about emptying/unplugging/resettling if it's just a couple of metres?

Fridges and freezers usually have casters at the rear. Just lift the front and pull the appliance out. You won't need to worry about settling times, as they won't have been on their side or subjected to vibration like when they are being shipped.

Just open the door, slide the fridge/freezer out, close the door, clean the floor and then slide back the appliances once floor is hoovered/mopped. I've never emptied it or turned it off when doing this. Letting the gas settle only needs to be done when the appliances have been transported and bounced around in the back of a lorry or tipped to carry up/downstairs.
