Heated clothes dryers

Good folk of mumsnet please give me your best advice on heated clothes dryers.

We are a family of 5 with rugby/football kits, school and work uniforms being washed on the regular. The washing machine is on 4-5 a week and I'm trying desperately not to use the tumble dryer but this weather is making that very difficult.

We have the John Lewis heated drying rack and it is fabulous - a whole washing machine load dries overnight. We only use the tumble dryer for towels now.

Exactly what @Zizou8 said!
It's been a lifesaver-
If you can run a dehumidifier with it too or open a window as after prolonged use I notice some mould in the room I was using it in when I stupidly didn't ventilate x

I don’t know how we managed without our Lakeland one. Get the biggest one you can and don’t forget the sock clips - clip them by the heel!

Those were the two I was looking at. Do I need the cover for the Lakeland one?

I would recommend getting the cover. I know lots say that you can put a bedsheet over it and clip, but I just find the cover easier, thicker and you don't have to fiddle around with clips, it just zips up. If you are doing to use it most days I would get a cover.

I also have the John Lewis one and its fantastic. You definitely need to cover whatever one you get (I use a king size duvet cover)
