It's old so no surprises really!

Time to change and get a new one I guess.

Do I replace with the latest version or switch it up with a market equivalent?

Looking for recommendations please.

Depends how old I guess. I replaced the battery on mine which is over 10 years old and it's as good as new now.

@Tessi - can you replace the battery? Is it as simple as that? Scurrying away now to look into it - thanks

Oh dear - maybe ebay might help, but there does come a time.......................
when it's just got to go I guess. I regularly change the filters on mine and that always makes a huge difference and I tap it hard against something outside to get all the dust out.

You can replace the battery as long as the rest is sound. Ours has started to haemorrhage bits of plastic so in the end I bought a new one (went for a Henry Quick which has a much longer battery life).

We were about to throw out our handheld Dyson, then decided to try one of the non branded Dyson compatible batteries off Amazon.

Works like a dream, it's now more powerful than it was originally. It came with a replacement filter as well. Thinking about it, we've had the replacement ages now, and still working well.

I've replaced a couple of cordless Dysons over the years. Never gone for the very latest, they are always the most expensive (bit like iPhones!) and have been very happy!
