Hello - we are planning a new kitchen for new extension thats starting next week- up against it time wise and in bit of panic! So many decisions....

We are buying new dishwasher and fridge freezer. Never had them integrated before (have had oven/hob integ and was great) but integrated appliances seem to look better in the kitchen. But worried they may be annoyingly smaller inside than freestanding? Obviously want the kitchen to look good but I guess its more important that it does its job properly.....

Any brand recommendations also very welcome re both dw and ff.

I have integrated applicances. Dishwasher fine, washing machine was fine but it broke and was hugely expensive to replace so we bought regular one and did away with the door covering it.

Fridge and freezer - I have separate integrated ones - both small and I wouldn't recommend at all. I would get a fridge/freezer combo if I had the choice, with smaller freezer bit and eye-level fridge.

Intergrated : looks lovely but getting stuff repaired (my smeg combi microwave cost £265 to replace a part!) Same with dishwasher.
Our intergrated fridge freezer has been fine but I'm sure its smaller than its freestanding counterpart..

OH and DON'T buy SMEG .. They are absolute rubbish!

I have integrated dishwasher (no smaller than regular). 5 ring hob (fab, also allows me to use a fish kettle on the hob), eye level large fan oven, integrated second oven/grill/microwave (really useful and frees up counter space). We have a free standing side by side american frisge freezer with ice/water dispenser. Tonnes of room, looks good and encourages all of us to drink loads more water. (washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility room downstairs, so bulk standard, not integrated).

I thinkit really depends on how much/what kind of cooking/baking you do, how often you shop, how many of you there are and what size/shape kitchen as to what will suit you/your kitchen best

Integrated appliances are Bosch, fridge is Samsung.

Thanks for those replies...
Anyone else recommend the brand they have? Bosch seems to be coming out well from few comments recently...

Bosch good (have a non integrated washing machine in the utility room)
Miele v good (but expensive)

Bosch dishwashers very good - but if you are in a hard water area, they won't last forever, likewise washing machines

Would try and avoid intergrated fridges as these do seem to be smaller than average, and under counter fridges are the work of the devil. Integrated dishwasher are same capacity as usual, trickier to repair and more expensive to replace

I am getting a new kitchen in May and have chosen white T&G cupboards so that I don't have the faff of matching appliances to cupboards.

Brandwise for FF, think they are all much the same these days, so I will buy the cheapest one that suits - and you can get these very cheaply these days, so if it breaks then I can replace. Things with moving parts - dishwashers and washing machines - I would recommend buying a decent brand.

Interestingly, a lot of websites (Comet etc) these days give you the estimated running cost per year of fridges etc. I am such a nerd I found this interesting!

I had integrated - I had 60/40 fridge freezer which was a bosch and it was fantastic. My sister had under the counter integrated fridge and freezer and they were tiny!!

I have integrated bosch dishwasher which is fantastic, I think if I remember correctly that the top kitchen brands from Which mag are bosch, meile and AEG.

I think it looks a bit awful when you have a beautiful run of units and then a big white washing machine. But I have a utility room and would always house my washing machine and tumble drier in a cupboard or utility as I don't like the smallness of the integrated washing machines.
