Cleaning Turkish Khelims/woollen rugs

I have two rugs in my living room that have really been put through the mill by my two kids..

Went to the drycleaners to get a quote and they ended up quoting me a price to clean which would be slightly more than what my Dh and I paid for them originally!!

They are dry clean only (probabaly being wool), but if I used a woollen cleaner (Woolite) and put them in the bath to soak and dry them outside (when it clears up) - will they be okay??

The colours often run like mad and you may find that all the different coloured sections just end up bleeding into each other. Could you try dipping one corner into a woolite solution to see what happens?
