Please can you give me a
step-by-step guide for cleaning a dish such as this (see pic) that has been left out for a day or two? I’m half tempted to throw the whole lot away but I get the feeling that would be lazy.

How do you prevent all of the wet, soggy crusty bits from going down the sink after you soak it?

Thanks!

Well first, chisel off all those crunchy bits round the edges and eat them- they will be delicious 😋 Then, you need one of those inserts for your plug hole that catch food so it doesn't go down your pipes. Soak the dish in hot water and it should come clean after a bit of elbow grease.

Soak for a day and then pour out the water before even attempting to scrub. Then use a spatula or something good at scraping to peel off the softened gunk and wipe it with kitchen towel. All the bits go in the bin then repeat the process for another good long soak.

It looks like the top edges are quite crusty so you may need to soak it in a bucket and weigh it down or they won't get wet.

... and then drain it off over a colander or a big sieve so you can separate the gungy soaked-off bits from the water, and bin them.

Soak in soapy water. Drain through a sieve, then tip the lumps onto kitchen paper and transfer to the bin. No big deal.

Cross post with Mainly!
