LEATHER SOFAS - How do you clean yours?

I've just had a call from Furniture Village to say that our new leather sofas will be delivered tomorrow (about time too, since we ordered them back at New Year).

Anyway, as I haven't had leather sofas before, I was wondering how you keep them clean, is it a soapy water job or saddle soap? Please reassure me that I won't need to buy an extortionately priced product to keep them spick & span!

Thank you

I just use a baby wipe!

We've had ours about a year and they look great.

I buy the leather wipes. I've tried all different ones ranging from £1 - £3, all do the job fine imo.

Where do you get the leather wipes from?

Baby wipes or a damp soapy cloth for dark brown ones, find that the cream ones actually show less grubbiness and need much less cleaning (for some reason everything in our house dries to a creamy grey colour which you can't see on a cream sofa but which instantly makes brown look filthy). SO cream ones probably only get done every other month at the most to be honest.

What colour are you getting?

cream!!!!!!!

Have never cleaned my leather sofas (have had them about 12 years).

Now that sounds more like it Foofi....

They sell leather wipes everywhere. In the supermarkets they are usually with the shoe cleaning stuff, but I usually get the cheap ones from Wilkos.

phew!

weetabix and milk are the two things that for some reason get everywhere in our house, the wbix are tricky to get off once they dry but everything else wipes off easily Have fun arranging your new furniture!

I use a leather cleaning spray from poundland lasts a lot longer than wipes.

Thank you, I will.
I'm actually hoping that they'll come whilst I'm out taking the dds to violin tomorrow morning. Then DH can oversee the removal of the old ones and welcome the new ones in!!

I find it all a bit stressful, especially as they'll have to carry them over our side gate and round into the back garden to bring them in through the patio doors. I'd rather not be around to watch tbh!!
