someone else had to stay in your house and look after your DC's how easy woild they find it?

My friend had to go abroad very suddenly and at short notice and I stayed in her house with her DC's. It was chaos, I was trying to get her 5 year old DS ready for school and couldn't find anything, nothing was organised and the children were in no routine at all, it obviously works for her but drove me insane!
My house is quite organised and DC's clothes etc are all easy to find and where they shoild be.

So what about your house?

MIne would be fairly straightforward......I think!!

Minum · 05/03/2008 19:40

I wrote a manual on how to look after DC and run the house for my mum when she came here, so would hand a copy to anyone foolish kind enough to come and help out (it included time school starts, bin day, music practice schedule etc)

Bluebutterfly · 05/03/2008 19:40

Mine is somewhere in the middle of the two - I usually get the place pulled round before it descends into utter chaos, but I could be a bit more organised.

BecauseImWorthIt · 05/03/2008 19:40

Surely it would be difficult in anyone's house? NO matter how organised they are their things will always be in different places and their family will have different routines!

Good for you though.

Kindersurpise · 05/03/2008 19:43

On the surface, reasonably organised and tidy/clean.

Just do not open any cupboards. And whatever you do DO NOT GO INTO THE CELLAR!

I do have an In Case of an Emergency word doc with all the details of paediatrician, nearest A&E childrens hospital, kindergarten etc that I did for my Mum one time.

BroccoliSpears · 05/03/2008 19:45

No, mine would be difficult. Everything is last minute, so all family clothes are usually jumbled in a big ironing pile rather than put away in cupboards. I rarely decide what we're eating until I start to cook 30 minutes before we eat. Nothing is prepared or organised. Works for us though - cheerful chaos!

Mine would be abit of a nightmare i think My dds chest of drawers has been over loaded with clothes at times so the bottom of some of the drawers are broken....you have to open them in just the right way or the fronts of the drawers fall off That would be abit of a pain i should think. Also all my cupboards are abit of a jumble, even though i go through them every now and again, not much space to everything just gets squashed back in again!!
To be honest i don't think they would find ANYTHING.....
