"Old" smell inside vintage wardrobe, how to get rid of it?

Mid-century vintage wardrobe, smells just old and bit fusty inside.

I hoovered all the joints, washed it with a Zoflora solution, so it's completely clean, no dust in crevices etc, and left a tub of bicarb in there, but it still smells.

Today I rubbed white vinegar all over it, left it open to dry at the moment, but already I think the musty smell is still under there.

Does anybody else have any suggestions please?

I had the same with some drawers, I left coffee granules in it for a few days. Then it smelt of coffee :D but eventually after a few weeks it smells neutral.

Put some lavender bags in?

Give it a good beeswax polish. It provides a barrier between it and your items, plus it feeds the wood and keeps it supple.

I would also use beeswax, I have some with lavender in it that smells lovely.

@INeedAnotherName @Scampuss I shall give that a go once the vinegar is fully dry, thank you.

@1990s can't hurt to add them as well!!
@saltnsaucey it's beyond that, there is one in there, but doesn't stand up to anything.
