Stain removal

My daughter managed to splatter her favourite white t-shirt with concealer (don't ask!!), and then decided to wash it to try to get it out.

Needless to say it didn't work 🤯

I have tried everything I can think of to get the splatters out (Vanish, hanging out in bright sunshine).

I am thinking of trying neat bleach on a cotton bud to precisely target each splatter - will this work or is it a stupid idea?!?!

Any help appreciated as she is distraught that she has ruined her favourite t-shirt!

Thank you wise people!

Head on over the Nancy Birtwhistle on insta. She can get any stain out and responds to individual requests.

@sorrynotathome amazing, thanks - I have asked in the comments on her post about stain removal! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

What about soaking it in cold water and a bit of bleach. I had to do dds school blouse yesterday and it got rid of the tomato stain.

Roselilly36 · 10/09/2023 12:24

soak the garment in cold water with salt added to dry out the stain and them wash with detergent and Napisan. We own a holiday let, so many items towels sheets etc get stained and this is the only way I have found to remove them, sometimes needs to be washed more than once though.

Roselilly36 · 10/09/2023 12:24

Draw not dry 😂

SevenKingsMustDie · 10/09/2023 14:14

Thanks @Roselilly36 @Sheldoncoopersspot and would this work if it's already been washed?

@sorrynotathome Nancy replied 🎉 but said to look at Green Living page 261....don't really have £££ to spare buying the book ☹️

@SevenKingsMustDie yes, our cleaners tried, could not get stains out, I said I would try and it worked.

SevenKingsMustDie · 10/09/2023 14:27

@Roselilly36 sounds promising then! Will ask around to see if anyone has any Napisan (DD is 13 so been a long while since we've needed this!).

I find the only vanish that works is the tub with the powdered granules in it. Is that the one you tried op?

Vebrithien · 10/09/2023 14:32

@SevenKingsMustDie you can get Napisan in Asda and Home bargains.

I always use it for DDs white school tops, she gets everything possible down them.

Is the concealer oil based? If so, you might find rubbing the area with Fairy liquid, to loosen the stain, and the soaking in a mixture of Napisan and biological washing powder lifts it enough to be removed in the next wash.

Oh that’s a shame. I’ve got her “Clean & Green” book but not the Green Living one, otherwise I would have taken a photo for you!

SevenKingsMustDie · 10/09/2023 14:45

@Boujibroke yes, that's the one.

Try Ace - In turquoise platinum bottle from most supermarkets.
Pour on stain then wash as normal.
It removes all stains and is particularly good for oily stuff.
I used it on carpet stain from foundation (DD' accident) - it took a lot of blotting and rinsing because it was a carpet. But normal clothes, it's easy.

dementedpixie · 10/09/2023 14:51

I would try rubbing washing up liquid into the stains or use a laundry soap bar before washing with bio powder

SevenKingsMustDie · 10/09/2023 20:50

@Branster do you mean this?

Can get this in my local Tesco!

Yes @SevenKingsMustDie
That's the stuff!!!
It works on any cooked food stain, fresh vegetables and fruit, makeup, mud, the lot.
Super bad stains might need a second treatment.

Branster · 10/09/2023 20:56

And oily stuff from bikes, cars - a DH special.
