Anyone with Au Naturale old-fashioned kitchen scales?

Hello!

Our tough metal kitchen scales from Au Naturale fell apart inside after one of us unscrewed the adjustment knob.

I'm not sure how to put them back together again (I've a fair idea, but that's not enough to make the work correctly!).

Anyone fancy taking the side panels off theirs (one screw at top of each side) and taking some photos? That would be very helpful as we use these all the time.

Thanks!

Peter (Rachel's hubby)

The ones I'm talking about look very similar to this:

'one of us unscrewed the adjustment knob.'

In order for us to help you, it's important that you be specific about which one of you is to blame.

When we got married, the minister told us it was a good idea not to talk about each other's faults publicly!

And in any case, it happened after our 11 month old dropped them on the floor.

So we're blaming the baby! Excellent

Can't help with the scales I'm afraid (use £3 cheapies from John Lewis meself). But there'll be someone on here who can...

Ours were cheap too, about £6. I think maybe they sell them in other shops too, so take a look at the picture.

Can you not just get new ones? If they weren't that expensive probably be less hassle.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 19/03/2008 20:18

They stopped selling them. Guess we might just have to get something different if we can't come up with how to put them back together. But haven't seen anything around that looks even close to them or as sturdy. Lidl have some electronic ones, but they use 2 3V batteries (about 2 quid a piece), so could end up expensive if you need to change batteries frequently.
