Microfibre for dusting

I discovered my mr sheen polish is empty, so I tried to polish with the damp microfibre method that people wax lyrical about.

Clean microfibre, wet from tap, wring it really well. Definitely damp as opposed to wet. First wipe using any clean part of the cloth goes well. Second wipes just leave clumps of damp dust deposited on surface in question at the end of the wipe. It becomes a chore to actually manipulate these clumps of dust onto other parts of the cloth to consider the surface clean enough to move onto the next one. It’s particular worse on anything glass or glossy.

Mr Sheen + yellow duster, it just lifts the dust up and doesn’t deposit it elsewhere as you go. Occasional shake of the duster out of a window to remove excess dust as you go. I’ll be getting down the shop to get some more polish ASAP

Am I doing something wrong here?

Might be better to use a dry cloth to remove the dust first rather than a damp one.

I use a fluffy duster (pledge, I think) very much easier.

I've never heard of using microfibre wet?!

I only ever use it dry and never have any problems.
