Colour catchers

Do they actually work? I'm sick of my whites being grey from lazy washing so I've decided to either separate them or use a colour catcher but not sure if they're just a waste of money?

I've become increasingly lazy about separating darks and whites since I had my children and had so. Much. Washing. Colour catchers are a revelation - no idea how they work but they come out dyed the colours from your wash but the clothes are fine. Worth a couple of quid in my opinion.

I use them and find them very good. I read that they can cause problems getting stuck in the washing machine. In fact when DS was at uni they were banned from using them but I put it inside a small bra wash bag.

I used to use these and yes they worked until my machine stopped working and I found loads of them in the filter.

You can buy reusable colour catchers made by either Dylon or Dr Beckmann (can’t remember which). I use them when I wash my fabric for quilting and it’s shocking how much dye they catch.

Yes they are great though I still woukdnt wash pure white with strong colours. But always put them in a washing bag.

Ah excellent tips. I hadn't thought that it could clog it up. Thank you!
