My towels are see through.
They are not that old but falling apart.

I'm at the stage in my life that I'm willing to invest in decent towels.

Nice big fluffy absorbant towels.

Non of this microfiber shite either.

Abyss & Habidecor are lovely. They wash beautifully and the colours are gorgeous.

CMOTDibbler · 05/08/2023 16:16

We have white John Lewis towels, and they wash so well and are still fluffy after years of use

SleepingisanArt · 05/08/2023 16:43

I also have John Lewis Egyptian cotton - extra large bath sheets. They shed fluff for the first 4 washes but then just stay lovely. Had one set for 6 years so far and replaced other towels with them a few months ago. I love being wrapped in them!

My white company ones are less than three years old, and not fluffy at all. They are excellent condition, but not that aaaaah fluffy that you're looking for.

Following with interest....

Agree that John Lewis towels are lovely.

I got some last year from Next Home, which are surprisingly good and less expensive than JL.

All towels are fluffier if you tumble dry them.

Another vote for John Lewis Egyptian cotton. They're the best I've ever owned, have stayed nice and thick for years and years, maintained colour perfectly and haven't snagged at all.

Nat6999 · 05/08/2023 18:45

I've just bought ds towels from Dunelm, he says they are very fluffy.

Roselilly36 · 05/08/2023 18:58

Asda Home towels are very good considering the price point.

edgeware · 05/08/2023 18:59

The nice towels at Tesco were rated really highly in Good Housekeeping, I think.

AlwaysGinPlease · 05/08/2023 21:46

Another vote for NEXT. We just bought some, big and fluffy.

Hannahthepink · 06/08/2023 10:33

Also, GSM is the weight of the towel, if you want something that will stay thick and fluffy, I wouldn't entertain anything under 600gsm. They may feel thick in the shop, but without the heavier weight of cotton, the fluffiness won't last!

We have just bought Christy Brixton. Really soft and no shedding which was my main concern. On sale at the moment

EarlofShrewsbury · 06/08/2023 16:06

Ooh, lots of suggestions to look at.

I like the sound of the John Lewis ones.

Thanks

Liddel. Irish made. Whenever I find nice ones at a hotel I take photos of the labels. These are thick and fluffy and wash well

Happydays321 · 06/08/2023 19:45

I've got 3 sets of JL Egyptian Cotton towels that I rotate. They're a good few years old and in great condition but as I don't tumble dry them in no stretch of imagination could you describe them as fluffy!
The initial fluffiness lasted about 6 months.

ChristmasCrumpet · 06/08/2023 20:24

I do tumble dry my white company ones, and still not fluffy. They were a right deal when I bought them, otherwise I'd be pretty peeved.

Again, I can't fault the condition, they are constantly in the wash, no pulls or snags. Just not fluffy.

caringcarer · 06/08/2023 21:27

Sainsbury's do enormous large fluffy towels. I just bought my DS one as he's just moved into his house yesterday.

Annachristie · 06/08/2023 21:32

I like M&S towels. They're a good size, they wash well, they are absorbent and keep their colour. They might not be fluffy enough for you if that's your main criteria.

mrssgp · 06/08/2023 21:39

Murmur have a great choice. I bought the Cove bath sheets for my husband because he loves a fluffy towel (and they’ve stayed very fluffy), and I use the Spa Collection Waffle.
I tested them by buying a small towel and washing/drying it to check it was right before spending a lot of money on something that we didn’t like

HappiDaze · 06/08/2023 21:42

John Lewis and they have a fab selection of colours. They do need to be tumble dried for the perfect fluffiness

usernamealreadytaken · 14/08/2023 08:22

If you are able to get to Costco, their Charisma bath towels/sheets are fantastic - the bath sheets are considerably bigger than the ones from JL, and cost less too. They are fluffy enough, but not that awful fluffy that just wipes the water around, and they get softer after washing.

Super fluffy towels don’t dry. My fluffy M&S towels are not very absorbent, keep washing and line drying it to make it actually be a towel not an ornament.
