So had a Sebo animal cylinder before and just felt it never got the cat hair up. Bought a Shark lift away, just hoovered the living room after it was done two days ago and filled the cylinder with cat hair.

Wow I didn't realise the link would take up half of the post 😆

I have two corded sharks. I bought the second because of how good the first was but it's not as good 😢

The first is the one that bends in half to fit in a cupboard. Unfortunately it doesn't stand upright by itself when unbent which annoyed me more than it should. But my goodness it sucks up all of DDs very long hair, with no hair left on roller or floor.

The second is a proper upright. It doesn't suck up DDs hair but it does suck up everything else including my short hair when I cut it etc. Both were bought in a different sale.

We now have a DD hoover (she's claimed it), and upstairs hoover and a crappy downstairs hoover (by Hoover). I also have a meh cordless. I'm still after the Holy Grail of hoovers but don't tell DH 😬

I have Shark anti wrap . My son got it full of builders dust so I took it apart to clean. You can undo the rollers . Take off sponge thing at front and unclip the rod , it is a spring function . Washed and dried it all.

You need a sebo with the et-1 powerhead for carpets, that sebo doesn’t

We love ours, light enough that it's easy to take out, which was a problem with previous ones that discouraged me from using them.

Be warned though, they seem to be designed to be hard to repair with lots of stuff attached very firmly. We were told by one repair guy he couldn't replace a bit of hose that tore and it seemed stuck deep within lots of surrounding parts, but my husband carefully took it apart and got it working with a generic hose part. That said some people have told me since they have got them repaired by professionals
