How to wash pillows

Hi just fed up with washing pillows which then end up all deformed whatever washing cycle I use. Anyone got any tips to avoid scrunched up unusable pillows? Ta v much

It’s a faff, but I put giant ‘tacking stitches’ through them with double thickness thread which is then removed later. Also always wash them in pairs so they balance the weight in the drum.

you could probably also use giant safety pins to hold the filling together too.

Do you have a tumble drier or a launderettes with a tumble drier nearby ? You have to totally dry them - you can do this in the tumble drier with a couple of tennis balls either at home or in a launderettes. If not do it on the hottest day possible and try to dry them outside - if worse comes to worse a hairdryer will help. Then you have to "beat" them. Shake them, hit them with a stick of end of a clean broom for much longer than you think you need to.
Don't use any fabric conditioner when you wash them.
