Small bedroom solutions - looking for a really tiny bedside table?

Trying to set up a tiny bedroom. I need a v narrow bedside table or shelf on legs - I only have 10-12cm width to play with. This is going to be used as a divider between two beds, and also needs to be movable, so unfortunately wall mounted shelves or headboards with storage aren't suitable. Any suggestions? I previously used some very shallow, open backed CD/DVD shelves turned sideways, which gave a bedside table/set of shelves/bed divider where you could place a lamp, tissues and glass of water. But I don't have them any more, and now I can't find anything on Google (table, shelf on legs, console table, plant stand, CD shelves, anything!) less than 15cm width/depth.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Unfortunately most are too big - 10-12 cm is really tiny. I got all excited about the IKEA kitchen shelf on wheels (so cheap, too!) but turns out it's 18cm not 10. 😥It really is a very small space! A clip on shelf would have been ideal, but these are divan beds and I think clip on require bed frames? Not sure my DIY skills are up to the Stacey Solomon challenge!

Plant stand would be great but I can't find one small enough...

Is the main purpose to act as a divide between the two beds, or is it to store phone / cup / book etc?

10cm is tiny, less than the width of an A5 piece of paper. If you find anything that small it won’t be as tall as a bed because it would be unstable.

Urbansize sell floating bedside tables and drawers which have worked well for us in our small bedroom e.g. urbansize.co.uk/collections/floating-bedside-tables

Sorry, completely missed the moveable part! A storage caddy could work - this one is 15cm for example - www.argos.co.uk/product/2377566?clickSR=slp:term:slimline%20bathroom%20storage:1:150:2

With the loo roll one you could get two and secure them together. It's incredibly narrow to be stable though, there's a reason things this high are not normally this thin!

Let us know what you go for OP.

I wonder whether in theory you could secure something to a divan bed, either with a shelf that slides between mattress and base like bed guards have, or that somehow uses the holes in the base that are designed for securing a headboard. Headboards can just slide up off these so they can be more removable than they look.

A window box on its edge?

Those toilet roll holders look good (if expensive! 😱)

@1stepforward2stepsback I suppose the main purpose is to act as a divider, but ideally I would rather have something that looks like a table/shelf and is just a symbolic divide rather than put in a huge privacy screen that will dominate the space (I did consider this). I could theoretically add a shelf to one wall and/or try to do something with hanging bed pockets (though again, they don't really seem designed for divans) to supplement usable bedside space.

Theoretically there will be a 12cm gap, but the beds haven't arrived yet so I said 10-12cm in my OP just to allow for any extra. Maybe I should wait until they actually arrive so I can measure again before making the final decision as to what to order. If I'm lucky there might be an extra cm or so! It's a new build so rooms are not large.

I so appreciate all these suggestions, btw. So many ideas I would never have found. (I might have to come back and ask for more suggestions on tiny kitchen solutions at some point. 😂)

I have used this folding table from Argos in my son's bedroom between his bed and one of those ikea armchairs: www.argos.co.uk/product/4137058
It fits sideways into a small gap as the legs extend under the bed and the table top overlaps the bed slightly. Good luck with your search

What about a small shelf with folding hinges (picture as an example)?

I've done similar in a small space, but not sure if this would protrude too far even when folded?
