Pet hair help!

Genuinely feel like I’m banging my head against a wall. Can anyone please advise how they keep things looking clean with pets? In particular, bedding. I feel like our cat and dog’s hair clings to everything and no matter how hard we try things look dirty because of all the hair. I’ve spent the day cleaning and tidying and I just know it’ll end up covered in hair again by the morning. I love them dearly and realise it’s the down side to pets but I’m feeling a bit deflated that our house is never going to look as good as my friends’ that don’t have pets. For reference we have 2 very fluffy pets that cast a LOT and are both dark haired.

So you got pets that are known for heavy malting?

I specifically got one that doesn’t because I knew this would bother me!

Rubber broom/scraper things for carpets/chairs

Quilts for the beds

And buy duvet covers close in colour to the cat hair 😂

Are you talking about their bedding or yours?

I have 4 massive fluff balls that shed in all directions so I feel your pain. Frankly I’ve learnt not to wear black or have any dark furnishings and vacuum a lot. I love them to bits and a bit of hair shedding isn’t that big a deal.

I have a bulimic one who throws up most days so I got rid of most of my carpet as he ruined them all. That’s worse than fur shedding!

i’ve never considered comparing my house with friends without pets. They often have kids who make a bigger mess than my cats anyway. My house wouldn’t feel like a home without my furries.

I don't like our sofa, but we specifically chose it as it matches the dog.

This is amazing, I think I’ll just get a new sofa to match our pets!! Problem solved 😂

I vacuum every day
I think you really do have to do a little every day rather than save it up for the weekend like I used to do. It also stops you getting pissed off that you've worked so hard only for it to look a mess 30 mins later if you've only done twenty minutes of a whizz around rather than hours.

I've just bought one of these metal lint removers which is great for carpets: https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMAZECLICK%C2%AE-Remover-Resuable-Portable-Clothes/dp/B09X3K11GW/ref=asc_df_B09X3K11GW/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=570370905595&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7801858272716153300&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006864&hvtargid=pla-1686187081844&psc=1 . I use this on the areas where the dogs like to sleep before vacuuming. Robot vac is a godsend, will send it around at least once a day.

Also keeping on top of the grooming during summer makes a big difference. Invest in a decent brush, I just bought this for our German Shepherd and it removes a ridiculous amount of loose fur: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dog-Grooming-Tool-Undercoat-Rake/dp/B09MWF14ZP/ref=asc_df_B09MWF14ZP/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=570344181777&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14986555981445502634&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006864&hvtargid=pla-1608655156451&psc=1
