Eufy robovac

I'm looking at getting a robot vacuum and am looking for opinions on the Eufy range (cheap alternative ideas also welcome). Are they any good? What model is the best? Im currently looking at the LR30, G40 or 30C. Do they need need constant emptying, would it be worth getting a bin with it.

Mainly need for hoovering the whole of downstairs which is all hard flooring and maybe the odd upstairs carpet if needed.

We've had roombas for years, their parts service is excellent so you can change stuff out. Also have an app and schedule etc so you can set it to go round at night.

robovac1 · 20/06/2023 14:50

@MrsJamin I always thought Roombas were out of my price range (up to £300) but I've just seen an i5 within that range so I will add that to my list to look into, thank you for the recommendation.

I've just got the Honiture G20 on a recommendation and I love it. Got a good deal on Amazon for £150

I have a eufy g10 hybrid mop and vacuum.

It’s entertaining. I’ll give it that. The dc set it to “English butler” so it feels like having a really incompetent and lazy servant.

It cannot get itself lined up with the charging station properly so unless I remember to check it’s always out of charge when I want to use it.

It sets off in random directions and can miss sections. It gets stuck easily. It gets lost coming home.

And the mopping function is a joke. A toddler dragging a damp towel across the floor would be more efficient.

I’m kicking myself for being too cheap to buy a roomba. I quite fancy the roborock but I’m not inclined to upgrade until I get certain aspects of my home sorted - furniture that needs raising, or repositioning to avoid small gaps the robot can’t reach.

I’ve also found that I’m lazier now about doing a proper vacuum and I’m paying for it now with more spiders than we’ve had for years and moths. Normally poking into corners, and disturbing curtains and moving furniture would keep the beasties from getting too comfortable. Plus it’s very easy to “dust” as you’re hoovering or run it up the wall to catch a cobweb. That’s turned into a job-I-have-to-get-round-to now. Realistically you still need to vacuum weekly, which is all I was doing anyway. So between its shortcomings and mine, it’s actually made my home dustier over all.

I saw an eufy in B&M, might be worth getting. It was £100 off

Eufy 30c here, it is great

LadyDanburysHat · 28/06/2023 14:10

WE have the Eufy 30C. We probably should empty it daily, but don't. But then emptying a little box daily and avoiding having to do the vacuuming is not a big deal.

ImustLearn2Cook · 28/06/2023 19:36

I love my Eufy, so glad I got it. The one I have does go in random directions so it looks like it will miss bits but when it’s finished the floor looks well vacuumed.

I also like that there are different programs. So, after dc eats I can choose the one that vacuums in a spiral and just cover the area with the food crumbs.

I have a carpeted house so I do need to empty it after it’s completed a room. It has good suction so picks up a lot of dirt and dust.

It does seem to have a little trouble docking, so I end up picking it up and putting it on the charging dock.

Thank you for the replies so far.

I'm still trying to choose a model, I don't mind if it gets stuck or needs help to get lined up on the dock just as long as it gets the job done!

Do I really need floor mapping? Does it make a massive difference? Our downstairs is very open plan and minimalist.

Also suction strength, how do I know what I need or should I just go for the strongest within budget?

You don't need the mapping. I think it's a human thing, which isn't really necessary. The eufy is essentially AI, randoming it's way round.

And yes go for max suction in budget. Our one is perfectly fine. I don't think the moppy one is worth it though. The reviews seem to say it's a bit useless

DobbyTheHouseElk · 29/06/2023 20:41

We’ve got one, it’s great on hard floors. Looks totally random but he gets the job done. Sometimes I vacuum downstairs and set the Eufy upstairs so we work as a team…haha.

Hardly ever remember to clean his dust bucket out. He loves cables and getting tangled. He can find forgotten belts under beds and distribute them around the house. Very entertaining.

Im glad I got Eufy, easier on my creaky back and he usually has a stab at getting back home. Docking is difficult but he tries hard bless him.

LightlySearedontheRealityGrill · 29/06/2023 20:42

I have 2x 30Cs, had to replace one recently as the cat did a massive shit in front of it which it ate. But I love them, I will always have one now, not having vacuum is a delight. The 30c is powerful enough for a fairly thick carpet and I run them upstairs and downstairs probably every 3rd day. All you have to do is empty them before setting them off and line them up at the end with the charger (and stop them humping furniture occasionally). I dont wash my wooden floors often enough to want a wash function so that didnt interest me.

FruitBadger · 29/06/2023 20:44

I have the Eufy 11S Max, currently just under £170 on Amazon. It's 3 years old and fabulous still. Does hard floors and carpets a treat.
