Only thing that works for me is neat bleach.

IAteRoseMaryConleyForBreakfast · 20/02/2008 11:01

Yeah, it all went downhill from when I got it wet - from a few powdery bits to yellow everything [checks self in mirror anxiously].

Anthea Turner would be proud.

Right, Domestos it is then! Thank you!

No ides what is best to use. For the future, cut all the pollen tips off into a piece of kitchen paper as soon as you get the flowers into the house. That way there is none to stain anything. Also (totally irrelevant) did you know they are highly toxic to cats?

jesuswhatnext · 20/02/2008 14:14

don't worry, i have found it just wears off, well on my clothes anyway

CricketsMum · 20/02/2008 14:31

not helpful for worksurfaces but random fact - if you get it on your clothes put them out in the sun and it disappears... really works!

IAteRoseMaryConleyForBreakfast · 20/02/2008 15:40

Thanks for that ComeOVeneer - I was aware of that but loads of people aren't - I think it's only relatively recently become a recognised poison so worth pointing out, thanks

Bleach did the trick but I think I might have to wait for the skin on my hands to shed before it comes off them ...

Thanks folks

Get your hands decorated with henna to disguise it

helenelisabeth · 21/02/2008 20:39

Did you manage to get it off your worktops IARMCFB?

LittleMissMac · 21/02/2008 21:23

If you pick off the pollen bits with bare hands, like I do, treat your hands as you would if you got bike chain oil or thick grease on them: rub in liquid soap onto your dry hands, work the soap into the polleny bits, and then rinse with water.
