I'm talking, 100% cotton, high thread count, not plain white, interested in bold designs and deep colours. Thanks!

We only buy linenbundle bedding these days. They designs aren't the most exciting (though the do have some more fun ones) but they are by far the softest and most comfortable sheets we've ever had! We've also bought them as gifts for several people and they have always gone down well. I promise I don't work for them!!

Surprisingly, I bought a lovely black floral set in Primark last year. Really soft material that washes well. Looks more expensive than it was!

Okaay · 17/05/2023 09:50

Not sure why people are recommending such expensive places/brands. Go to Dunelm.

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 17/05/2023 09:52

John Lewis have some really lovely stripy ones atm in their Everyday range. Lovely cotton and they wash beautifully.

LaurelGrove · 17/05/2023 09:53

Place marking as I'm interested in a new duvet set. I have one from John Lewis x Matthew Williamson, which is beautiful - different patterns on each side, rich vibrant colours, doesn't need ironing, feels lovely.

gogohmm · 17/05/2023 09:56

Dunelm have lovely sets. Pure cotton, as high thread count as you want. I tend to use a higher thread count bottom sheet than covers

Ohyesthankyouglitter · 17/05/2023 09:57

La Redoute :)
In the sale they're really reasonable

jackstini · 17/05/2023 09:59

TK Maxx/Homesense - the Hotel ones with 400+ thread count are fabulous and great value

SoftCoeur · 17/05/2023 10:28

Soak and Sleep or Ikea for me. I've slowly built up a collection of really nice cotton and linen bedding over several years.

I didn't realise how much of a bedding princess I've become until we stayed in an otherwise very lovely Airbnb last year and I slept horrendously thanks to the thin, scratchy polycotton sheets and synthetic duvet 🥲

SoftCoeur · 17/05/2023 10:29

Oh, and you might have a look at Anorak for bold designs all in cotton.

Saker · 17/05/2023 10:29

I would agree Dunelm Dorma, it is very hard to find coloured duvet covers that have a higher thread count and are not silky plain colours.

TropicalMoon · 17/05/2023 10:35

Tk max always have lots, brands I’ve never heard of, but really good quality.
Habitat have lots of lovely bold floral prints and some lovely cotton linen sets. They wash really well & feel soft.

Scottishlanza · 17/05/2023 10:53

I tend to buy from here https://www.justlinen.co.uk/justlinen/index.asp
Loads of different brands some with really high thread count. Loads of offers although some sizes might not be available. Currently I have William Morris bedding on and it’s super soft and washes well.

Designers Guild in their sales

RedFloweringGum · 17/05/2023 10:56

I have a linen duvet cover from Heals (no ironing) and a washed cotton duvet cover from Heals (no ironing). Both very good quality. I especially love the washed cotton. They have a sale just now https://www.heals.com/bedroom/bedding/duvet-covers.html

La Redoute is my first choice.

neverwakeasleepingbaby · 17/05/2023 11:06

Best duvet cover I've had was from M&S x Fired Earth range. It's so thick and soft, but doesn't get too hot in summer. Feels really luxe but wasn't that expensive! It's completely plain, an off white colour which isn't too stark and complements the neutral tones of the bedroom. Lots of white duvet covers are too stark white and hotel-like, but I love this one.

I get high thread count on Amazon for plain duvet covers, but for patterns I love Designers Guild. Can be pricey but they do have sales. Really nice cotton. For the fitted sheets definitely high thread count from Amazon though.

OnMyWayToSenility · 17/05/2023 11:13

White co are my favourite for price and quality.

Yves del orme or frette would be choice if I was very rich! I have a few prices from them which I've been gifted and have lasted over 10 years 😀

Barnabyted · 17/05/2023 11:22

I’m another that would recommend justlinen.co.uk. Lots of variety and a range of prices depending on brand and quality.
They often have a sale which brings down the price as well.

I order all my beddings from laredoute. Great quality, last a long time and a lot of choices too
