I need to clean a house to 'don't lose the deposit standard' I will attach photos but the flooring is a Lino. There's a blue stain caused by wet party popper contents. Some orange stains don't know the cause and in the kitchen the floor looks dingy in comparison to one area which was covered up. Please any advice for getting the stains and and cleaning a grimy floor.

Also any advice for getting marks off non wipeable walls.

And getting a burn ring off a white work top (sorry no photos)

Honestly this probably isn't helpful but I'd hire someone to do it. I'd more than likely make it worse by using the wrong cleaner/chemicals. I don't think the blue mark is worth losing a deposit over and is the lighter patch where you've had an appliance? That's fairly usual. The other mark and the burn on the worktop I'd think are more serious. We had someone come out and clean our sofa after a red wine incident and they were amazing. If it's going to cost you less in a cleaner than it would of you lost your deposit it's worth it

How long have you been in the property, and how long ago were the worktops installed?

Also is your deposit in on of the correct schemes?

The reason I ask is the landlord only has a certain lifespan for things like flooring etc. So if the lifespan of lino for example is 10 years, but it’s already been in place for 8, then the landlord can only claim for 2/10 towards replacement. Anymore is considered betterment, you don’t get new for old replacement. And also probably just for the effected area. So one small blue mark doesn’t mean you losing £hundreds to give the landlord a brand new floor. It doesn’t work like that.

And the example above is only in the case of actual damage (like a burn) not normal wear and tear (like marks on walls). There is a difference, and the landlord can not claim damages for normal wear and tear. So for example…

Holes in walls from picture hooks = wear & tear
Holes big enough to use as gloryhole = damage

i would try your best but not worry too much.

10 months it's a starter home new build so cheap paint, cheap flooring, cheap work tops . Yes deposit is protected

Toothpaste mixed with bicarb can remove brown coffee rings. Rub it on for 30 seconds or so, leave for a mi Ute and wipe off.
I thought it hadn’t worked on a wooden table but when I looked an hour later it had gone.

Hand sanitiser seems to help with a lot of stains. Maybe just try on a small area first.
