Henry hoover first world problem

ChefWifeLife · 04/05/2023 06:03

We’ve had our Henry for about 8 years. The mesh filter thing is clean, new bag and recent new hose as the other one had split.

The floor just doesn’t feel clean afterwards though. We have two young children so there’s lots to hoover on a regular basis.

My husband suggested replacing the floor tool bit (the rectangular bit).

The suction is fine when using the other attachments.

Many thanks in advance.

Does he need a new foot? They wear out.

As your husband suggested reading back.

DH decided we needed a new hoover while on furlough. Against my wishes he bought a Henry. I’m sure they are great in offices, but it’s useless at picking up animal hair (well, hoovering to be honest)

we bought a Shark within 3 months and it is amazing. The only things Henry is used for now is hoovering the conservatory tiled floor, and if something has been sucked into the Shark that shouldn’t have been!

Tbf it's Harry that picks up animal hair.

You're right though, Henry's should be kept for offices.

You can get a foot for Henry that has a rotating brush and is better for picking up hair. It works best with an empty bag, and then reduces in effectiveness as the bag fills.
I’ve had my Henry for 25 years and it’s still going strong, but I’m not particularly houseproud so maybe I turn a blind eye to what’s left on the carpet after hoovering.

I had a Henry for years. Now changed to a shark. Much better.

ChefWifeLife · 05/05/2023 05:22

I mean I hate Henry (sorry Henry!). He’s cumbersome and not quick to whip out to clean. We’ve not got animal hair to clean up.

I may try the replacement part and then if it’s still crap go for a different brand.

Any particular recommendations for shark ones?

Henry’s great for me because I’ve been living in a building site for the last ten years, and he can handle the rubble and plaster dust that covers every surface. If I lived somewhere nicer I might boot him out, but for now he’s the man for the job!
