Kitchen sink drainer recommendations please

I have no drainage grooves so I need something to drain the water into the sink.

Those towers where you have lower shelf for small cups etc and upper deck for plates doesn't suit: I tend to sinkwash big casserole pots and baking trays, pans, more than plates and cutlery (which go in dishwasher). Do I just need a low level mat type thing? Do they get manky?

That one is Brabantia and it's kind of what I'm looking for (cheaper would be good!) but it would be good to hear people's experiences.

If you live in a hard water / limescale area, avoid black. It quickly gets stained and annoying.

For big items maybe a draining mat would work (try tea towels to see if it suits you).
If dishwasher is mostly empty, put items into drawers so water drips/drains onto open door.

I've just bought a drying mat- one of those microfibre quick dry ones- arrived yesterday. I was surprised it didn't have a backing, I doubt my wooden worktop will cope with a damp mat sitting on top of it.

I may have to splash out (pardon the pun) on a Brabantia.

Thanks for the tip about avoiding black- I hadn't thought of that!
