We're having a new kitchen this year, and I rather fancy a cream Aga at the centre of it (it's a huge basement room, so rather cries out for an Aga-type thing) - but I know nothing about them other than that I like the colours (!!) Does anyone have any Aga experiences, either good or bad? I am not remotely a splendid cook - spag bol and variations on the spag bol theme are about my limit (with a few casserole-y things, and M&S ready-made pizzas and pies for variety), but maybe that doesn't matter? (Can you cook a ready meal in an Aga?!)
We have various friends with Agas, and they all swear undying love for them - but I don't know how whether they cook with them or if they just look at them (and have secret microwaves hidden somewhere in their kitchens).
Are they very expensive to run compared to a fan oven? And are they very irritating in a hot summer?
Finally, my DH makes his own marmalade (yes...), and is concerned that Agas are unsuitable for marmalade-making. I am sure that all self-respecting marmalade-makers have Agas, but would like know more!
