Decluttering books - where to sell?

Hi, I really have too many books and some that I haven't even read. I will give some to charity shops but would like to sell some of the more expensive books.

Where is the best place to sell them?

Anyone used Amazon to sell?

Many thanks 😊

I would just suggest eBay, but from my experience, singular, second-hand books are very hard to resell. You are competing with many other sellers who are either buying their book stock from charity shops 5 for £1 or from car boots at even less, and then selling them for really low prices like £3.99 inc free delivery.
So taking off the price you'd pay for delivery, eBay fees and your time, it may not be worth it. Amazon is similar, also flooded with second hand books.

The only time I would see it be worth it is if you have a book series with multiple books that you can sell together as a bundle, or education books that are still needed for studies and by university students etc.

Yes, agree with above. We used Ziffit just because it was quite straightforward.

Agree with PP, the Ziffit app is great - addictively fun, and they collect the books for you. Just make sure you have suitable boxes that you can seal before you start.

I think I used Music Magpie when I was selling a load of books ages ago. The app is really easy. Just scan the barcode. Probably similar to Ziffit.

Ziffit is great if you have a mountain of books to get rid of and are more concerned with getting rid of them than making much cash. But it can be also worth your while using the ebay app to scan barcodes of what you think might be rarer books. It will show you what they're going for on ebay. It can throw up some gems.

In addition to donating and selling, you might consider Bookcrossing a few just for fun.
