How to brighten white collar on black dress?

I have a black dress with a white collar that is a favourite of mine for work. I've washed it quite a few times without any problem but the last two times the colour seems to have run and the collar is now definitely grey rather than white! Does anyone have any tips for how to clean / brighten the collar?

You could try washing with something like this www.dr-beckmann.co.uk/products/colour-run-remover/

Watching with interest, I have same problem will the colour remover take colour out of black dress as well

I'd consult a dry cleaners. Bet they could do it. Collars like that used to be removable, was a good idea to prevent such things happening. Have you checked that it really isn't?

Definitely not removable sadly and I'm not clever enough with needlework to cut it out and reattach it. I've never had much luck with dry cleaners, I always think clothes come back smelling worse than they went in although they may look clean...

Did you wash it on its own or in a dark wash ? It's unlikely to run into itself tbh .. vanish the white collar and wash on its own and it should come back to white .

To brighten the white collar on your black dress, you can try a few methods. First, soak the collar in a mixture of cold water and a mild detergent for about 15-30 minutes, then gently rub the collar with a soft brush or cloth. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. If the stain persists, you can make a paste using baking soda and water, apply it to the collar, and gently rub before rinsing again.

Another option is to use a specialized stain remover designed for color bleeding. Always follow the care instructions on your dress's label, and consider hand-washing it separately in the future to prevent color transfer.
