Removing a sticker

Short version... how can I get rid of this? Its the remnants of the worlds stickiest sticker one of my wonderful daughters stuck onto furniture.

It. Won't. Come. Off.

I've tried scrubbing, hot water, cleaning products. Just tried white vinegar after reading it can help...

Now the children are getting older (youngest is 10 soon) I really want my furniture not to reassemble a play room!

WD40 is pretty good at most sticky stuff

Apparently peanut butter works a treat!

Never tried it but have read about it. Might be worth a google.

Nail varnish remover? It worked on something similar stuck to wooden floors.

Hand sanitiser/rubbing alcohol if it’s on a hard surface?

Thank you everyone!
I'm working through the ideas, starting with hand sanitiser and nail varnish remover since they are in the house, then will try the WD40 if I need to risk the tool shed....
(And then buying stuff if necessary)

Elbow grease spray is good
or if the wood can handle it- a blast with a steam cleaner

I have used cooking oil in the past, I leave it on for 5 mins and then use diluted washing up liquid to clear off and remove the oil.

Careful, nail varnish remover might damage the white surface. Test on a non vusible area first.

My top tips are heat (hairdryer) and a scraper, such as a windscreen ice scraper or DIY scraper for removing wallpaper/applying plaster. I actually use these for cleaning loads now after seeing it on youtube, it's brilliant for anything like stickers or dried on food.

I'll second the suggestion for Sticky Stuff Remover, it's a really good product.

Cooking oil is also good. You might find it helpful to alternate between rubbing cooking oil on and leaving for a few minutes, then rubbing with a hot soapy cloth, then repeating the oil, etc.

Be careful with solvent based products (including sticky stuff remover) because they can alter the finish of some paints/coatings... try a patch test at the back before use!

Another vote for wd40. It seems to ‘melt’ the sticky residue.

Did something similar recently on DCs bed covered in stickers. Used Pink Stuff paste

Peanut butter works really well, I didn't believe it would and only had the crunchy type but it did the job!

Thanks for all the tips, the handheld did it!

I tried scourers, Brillo Pads, The Pink Stuff, Elbow Grease, WD40.

The only stuff that worked was this...

HG Sticker Remover Cleaning... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000IU3VSA?ref=ppx%5D%5D%5B%5Bhttps%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.co.uk%2Fdp%2FB000IU3VSA%3Fref%3Dppx_pop_mob_ap_share&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 poppmobappshare

I have never tried the Sticky Stuff Remover though, that might be as good.
