What does a deep clean mean to you?

I read so many threads where posters discuss their weekly 'deep clean'. This puzzles me but maybe I have the wrong idea.

For me a deep clean is take the curtains/blinds down and wash them, dry, iron, dust and then wipe down the walls with a damp cloth, skirting boards, coving etc, clean lampshades, lightbulbs, dust everything, vacuum everything including the crack between the walls and the carpet, move all furniture, wash cushion covers etc, clean windows inside and out. Kitchen would include cleaning the oven, caustic soda down the drains, washing machine and tumble drier and the equivalent in the bathroom.

This isn't something I'd do every week. So I've got the wrong idea.

Can someone educate me?

I must have wandered into a parallel universe. Don't mind me. Do crack on.

🤣🤣@blueshoes come and sit this one out with me !
I’ll pour .. red or white 🍷??

I find adding a splash of Milton solution to a hot cloth is good for getting rid of any mould hanging about in the bathroom/kitchen/hallway.

@userxx @Rainsdropskeepfalling I've NC but came back to post I had the deep clean today!
It was 2 of them for 3hrs and the place looks so good and everything smells amazing too Grin

@Rebel2 thanks for popping back!

So what did a deep clean actually entail in the end?

Good Lord, that all sounds exhausting. My deep clean would be actually moving stuff when cleaning, instead of hoovering and dusting around them. And I don't do that often.

They did so much!
2 of them for 3hrs for the £65
High/low dusting, skirtings and pulled everything out so sofa/beds etc
Top of kitchen cabinets, fronts, kick boards
Everything mopped and hoovered including behind/under
Polished and wiped everything from shelves to doors to windowsills
Window frames and windows
Bathrooms scrubbed including tiles, floors, sinks

So it was living room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms and bedroom (other bedroom is exercise room so asked to skip that)
I took photos as it looked lovely and smells so clean

@Rebel2 that sounds amazing! And amazing value too. My cleaner is half that money for the same amount of time - I can totally see that having a team clean actually gives you more.

Don't blame you taking photos!

Few quick ones (the bits that aren't tidy are my fault for leaving stuff!)

Wow! It looks spotless. Are those blinds any good, do they block out the light ? Debating one in the bedroom.

Rebel2 · 27/02/2023 20:14

@userxx yes I really like them, they're not blackout blinds but they're dark if that makes sense. Not sure how they would be if a paler colour. It's nice to have them part open and get light but still have privacy
