Induction Hob cleaning

Cherryblossom200 · 18/12/2022 19:02

Hi everyone,

I've just bought a new induction hob from Neff and it said not to use normal kitchen cleaner because it's too abrasive.

Just wondering what I should use instead to keep it clean please?

The Method stuff looks natural and nice, but not sure if this is recommended for induction hobs.

Many thanks 😊

I use method glass cleaner a lot on mine. Works a treat.

I use the method kitchen spray (orange colour and scent). It gets rid of any grease that may be on the hob.

You can use the Dettol kitchen cleaner or any method it's all the same. I've had it for 8 years and used same products nothing has scratched etc

Astonish do a few different hob cleaners. I’ve been using this one for 7 years and the induction job still looks like new.
It takes about a minute to get any spills or marks off….it’s so easy.

I just use a clean cloth with hot water and fairy liquid. Wipe clean then polish with a dry cloth.

Thanks everyone 😊

I use this, it’s excellent.

Nothing except hot water and an ecloth to dry. My Neff hob is 7 years old, used daily, looks brand new.

PriamFarrl · 20/12/2022 17:13

Just a regular cloth and water. Unlike an electric hob the rings don’t get burned on food.

Caspianberg · 20/12/2022 17:13

I use method orange kitchen spray on everything in the kitchen. Seems fine

Livedandlearned · 20/12/2022 17:15

There's a good hob cleaner in an orange bottle, from supermarkets

Escapefromcolditz · 20/12/2022 20:44

Fairy and hot water, then dry with a dish towel. Hobrite for when there’s a very occasional burning on incident. Anything apart from jam spilling is fine and will come off with the hobrite

BlueBlueCowWondering · 21/12/2022 22:16

Induction is just glass surely so hot water and e-cloth. It's what I've always used and never needed anything else

mathanxiety · 22/12/2022 06:19

Wash up liquid, spread it around with a wet microfibre cloth, leave to soak into burnt on drips, etc, and then wipe off. Use a plastic scraper for stubborn patches.

Twizbe · 22/12/2022 06:35

Method glass cleaner is my current fav. Brings it up beautifully.

Other than that kitchen roll and water or an antibacterial wipe.

Best thing about inductions is that they are so easy to clean.

Flaunch · 22/12/2022 06:38

Just water and washing up liquid here.

Amazongirl9 · 22/12/2022 06:48

Fairy liquid soapy damp cloth and dry with a tea towel, or e-cloth. Miele and it’s 7 years old. Still looks new.

Any other tips for maintaining induction hobs? Do they scratch easily? Any recommended saucepan sets pls?

TIA!

Cherryblossom200 · 11/01/2023 19:58

Hob rite worked! It literally was like magic. I honestly didn't think it would get rid of the mark, it literally looked like the burn had gone though the glass. I just rubbed it on and it removed it straight away.

Thanks so much for the tip! I'm now going to use this to clean the glass as it polishes it up amazingly x
