How big is it? Bed bugs are tiny.

BlackberryCat · 27/11/2022 12:02

It looks like a roach to me.

carwashthecat · 27/11/2022 12:03

Looks like a Cockroach

Lonelycrab · 27/11/2022 12:03

Baby roach do do do do do do

WeAreTheHeroes · 27/11/2022 12:04

Jeez - cockroach. Do not stamp on cockroaches, you can pick up and transfer their eggs. Bleurgh.

HappyHamsters · 27/11/2022 12:05

Where did you find it.

TellMeWhere · 27/11/2022 12:05

Cockroach I'm afraid. Where was it?

BlackberryCat · 27/11/2022 12:07

I’d take roaches over bedbugs any day though. Just put down bait and they’ll be gone soon enough. Bed bugs are a nightmare to get rid of.

quantumbutterfly · 27/11/2022 12:07

cockroach. Why would you think it was a bedbug? Was it in your bed? you floozy.

Shesasuperfreak · 27/11/2022 12:10

I have super zoomed in. To me I'm thinking bedbugs as I am getting bitten by something but it has bigger antennae than the pics on google.

I was also thinking baby cockroach I'm not sure. Just grossed out.

I have pest control coming next week. I'm living in temporary housing that seems to have the plagues of egypt running through it.

It was upside down near the bin.

That's 100% a cockroach. That's not to say you don't also have a bedbug or flea problem though, if you're being bitten...

I'm not sure if cockroaches travel alone... I live in a land of many roaches and they usually have friends Sad Can you expedite pest control? I wouldn't be able to sleep.

PiggyInTheLidl · 27/11/2022 12:17

How big is it?

Bed bugs look like that but are about once or twice the size of an apple pip.

quantumbutterfly · 27/11/2022 12:19

Where on your body are you getting bitten? Lots of little bites round the ankles are probably fleas in the carpet, (treat pets and house for fleas).

Bedbugs? I think you'd find spots of blood on your bedding. Pest control.

Cockroaches, get a roach motel or two.

Shesasuperfreak · 27/11/2022 12:30

I'm getting bit on my feet, my hips, my arms and one on my neck. I have bought bedbugs powders and sprays but haven't seen any.

I've seen fleas before, years ago and normally I would see them in the day land on me or jumping on the floor. But with these bites I haven't seen a thing and I'm getting bitten in the night.

I am the only one getting bit and I'm going crazy.

Roach.

PUKE PUKE PUKE PUKE PUKE PUKE

BlackberryCat · 27/11/2022 12:44

Talk to pest control about what to do long term. Even if you get your place sorted they can still come from other places. They should be able to tell you what bugs you have.

Where are you roughly? Are you in the UK?

Shesasuperfreak · 27/11/2022 12:47

In London

Whatever pesticide you use, you need to treat cloth seams and cracks in skirting, floorboards, furniture.

IME Permethrin or other organochlorine/phosphate based sprays need a lot of airing as they won't do you any good either.
Dimethicone(silicon) based ones work mechanically by covering the critters spiracles (breathing holes), they make surfaces slippery and seem to need less time to air after spraying, it's mainly the propellant that needs airing.
Powder based pesticides dry out egg cases, larvae etc and may have a chemical pesticide added, you don't want to breathe in too much of them either. Vacuum them up after the time stated on the product.

Try wearing an insect repellant at night, (hope your pest control saviours come soon), citronella is usually well tolerated.

Regular vacuuming and dehumidifying makes the environment less friendly to critters in the UK climate if that's where you are.

Good luck.

100% a roach, I feed them to my lizard so I've seen a lot! 😂 plus, bedbugs are more pointy at the head end

TellMeWhere · 27/11/2022 12:59

I'd stake my life on that being a roach. Roach shaped. Long antenna. Butt "pincers"... Roach.

This!

I don’t think bed bugs have the butt pincers you can see in the photo.

Are the bites in lines or clusters? Have you tried checking the mattress at night with a torch?

Bugs are gross but they’re just bugs and they won’t kill you or anything. It’s no fun living with them though. I hope pest control sorts you out.
