Anyone used Purdy and Figg?

Quite like the sound of their cleaning products but wonder if anyone has used them? Smell is important to me but also want them to actually clean.

I use zoflora, I know it's not as ecologically sound but seems divine and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. At the mo I am using the rhubarb one. Just use an old spray bottle, add a bit and fill with water x

Does it clean or just make things snell nice?

After trying just about every plastic free cleaner going, I have finally settled on Smol for my kitchen surfaces as it ticks every box for me.
I did like P&F but found it WAY too expensive to use all the time, even when I used half the recommended dilution.
I have used Splosh for a few years now but am falling out of love with it as the goalposts seem to constantly change re delivery costs and the punches seem far too faffy now easier solutions are on the market.
I have found Iron and Velvet pretty rubbish and my shower is actually more grotty after using the daily shower spray than before.
I use Ocean Drop glass cleaner and it's OK.
has anyone found a plastic-free daily shower spray or dishwasher rinse aid that works and does not cost a fortune?

Old thread, but Method Passionflower daily shower spray is wonderful. Nice scent, no limescale, sparkling glass

I have read with interest the comments on Purdy and Figg products. I have literally taken delivery today of my starter kit. To be honest I literally put the scent into the bottle filled with water and did a quick spray before going off to work. Came home and I could just about smell the scent but I really thought it was going to be a lot stronger. I am undecided if I will keep using the product but will give it a go for now. Interesting comments though which are more than helpful - thank you

PullUpTheDrawbridge · 23/07/2024 23:02

I like the sound of the smell but can't bring myself to purchase, the ads are awful. So bloody smug. And sexist. Ever seen a man clean? Trying to convince us ladies that cleaning is like a trip to the spa, Hmm

Kkp · 30/07/2024 14:28

They are very sneaky when you check out sneaking other packages into your shopping bag completely unsolicited. Be very wary of this trick! Found this very off putting as you have to pay for returns. Customer service not quick in responding.. Products nothing special - not worth the price even with offers

Viviennemary · 01/08/2024 08:45

I was tempted but was suspicious of the hype and special offers. You get the impression spend this money and your house will be transformed into this clean fresh smelling haven of tidiness with a few sprays from the magic bottles. It's cobblers. Decided not to bother.

Sanj70 · 14/08/2024 09:59

Omg yes I use it all the time it does exactly what it says ,you can clean every surface ,smells amazing and i wolf buy anything else ,buy it, you won't regret it x

I tend to agree. The smell was nice but it is far, far too expensive. The smell doesn't last either. I've switched to Neat bathroom as it's glass refills and the smell is just as strong as P&F for a lot less money. Plus I can buy single bottles

Really? The smell is nice but it definitively does not linger.
I am a bit suspicious of this post tbh 🤔

Oggermoller · 26/08/2024 11:44

P&F is available to order from Amazon, there's a few other eco friendly cleaning solutions on there too..

BaronessEllarawrosaurus · 26/08/2024 11:49

I quite like it but, despatch was slow, wrong item sent, customer service very slow responding. They are resending the correct item but I'm still waiting for it. Overall its been more trouble than its worth.

QueenAstrid · 26/08/2024 11:56

I bought the 4 scents for £15 starter pack and I find it disappointing. While the smell is lovely, it doesn’t linger and I need to use other products for the bathroom, kitchen sink etc. I’ll be cancelling it the subscription and look for something else to make my house smell lovely.

outdamnedspots · 26/08/2024 12:04

I ordered their stuff back in January. It never came. They re-sent it. It never arrived. I cancelled it. Not great.

HotHotChilli · 26/08/2024 12:22

Back at the beginning of COVID they were selling hand sanitiser and very little else. (think it was started by 2 nurses?).

I ordered a couple of spray bottles as I was sucked into the blurb of how well made it was blah blah blah. It smelt nice....thats all, at a stupid price.

Then all the other stuff came out, but they did seem more expensive then than now, but you did not have to subscribe to anything. Not bought anything else since due to the cost.

Lesleybowiegirl · 05/09/2024 15:15

I have used Purdy and Fig for a while now and have the subscription. The smells are beautiful and although they may seem strong leave your house smelling wonderful after you have cleaned. I also like to add a drop to my laundry instead of using Fabric conditioner and it’s a great eco swap

DaringLimeBird · 08/09/2024 12:49

Just got my starter kit ‘ it really doesn’t actually clean! Just smells nice but becomes overpowering for a while. I’ve cancelled the automatic subscription tjere which I hadn’t realised I’d signed up to. So thanks for pointing that out.

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/09/2024 14:19

I'm surprised some people are finding it doesn't clean. I used the counter clean to clean my bedroom and bathroom windows yesterday and they look sparkling! Super-easy, no smears, better than my usual glass cleaner actually. I love Purdy & Figg!

It’s just discinfectang, don’t do it, you kill off the good bacteria too. It’s just some daft thing Mrs hinch started, no one needs their home constantly discinfected.

Lesleybowiegirl · 08/09/2024 22:33

You can cancel at any time

Zoobits · 24/09/2024 08:16

@Fourfurrymonsters
Where do you get your essential oils from? They sound scrummy!

JFearn68 · 20/10/2024 00:11

I looked at this product myself. But after reading all of your comments I decided against it.

  1. Because of my concerns over entering into a subscription that I would not want too.
  2. I was a little alarmed to hear that other items get added to your basket without your knowledge!
  3. The product doesn't do as it is all hyped up and promised to do.

Therefore I have decided to stick with the new Zoflora spray disinfectant. I have been using this since Covid I love how clean it cleanses areas and the smell is amazing especially the purple one.

They also do the wipes for quickness and ease.

ZOFLORA is my favourite and my daughter now uses it too as do my friends.

The price is good too.

Thank-you for helping me not waste my money. 😁😁😁

I really don't agree with any of this about Purdy & Figg @JFearn68

You don't have to sign up to a subscription at all. But if you do, you can cancel anytime.

I've never had anything added to my basket without my knowledge. I find this comment especially weird.

I find the products really effective.

And unlike Zoflora, P&F is chemical free, vegan and doesn't harm the environment (or pets).

Shezlong · 20/10/2024 10:16

I've been using Spruce for years, but every now and again try another eco-friendly option. P&F smelled AWFUL. It's taken ages to get through the first bottle because everyone hated the smell so much.
straight back to Spruce!

There's no such thing as chemical-free. Water is a chemical.

You know what I mean.

And I love the smell of my current P&F. To the extent that I'm worried that when it runs out, I won't be able to buy more of the same scent (I usually choose the seasonal ones).
