Robot vacuum for third trimester and beyond

Hello all. I'm 30 weeks pregnant and suffering with a mixture of pelvic girdle pain and sciatica. My days are heavily scheduled around painkillers! I'm not able to keep on top of housework because I'm so afraid of setting off a back spasm (excruciating) so I'm just doing little bits here and there. DH does bits here and there as well but not as thoroughly as I want. I'm considering whether a robot vacuum might really help in this situation and for the busy time after baby gets here?

I'm just second guessing myself because I've not been sleeping well and some of my 4am purchases have been odd. So want to make sure that this would actually be a useful purchase.

Yes, I love mine. However you do need to have a clear floor for it to hoover- furniture and rugs ok for course. I do really like mine.

If your floors are generally clutter free then yes it would be a sensible purchase. (You need to move loose wires etc from the floor before setting it off as otherwise it’ll get into trouble.)

Also if you’re aware you need to empty it (and in my case de-hair the roller!) often. Have realistic expectations: It’s only a robot hoover, not a complete life changer.

I really like mine. I have a disability and it helps not to have to push a hoover around. Little and often works best so if you set it off every day then it keeps on top of things brilliantly. Every now and then DP will go round and hand hoover the corners or any tiny spaces it can’t get into.

And I forgot to add that it needs reasonably regular maintenance- hair gets wrapped around the brushes and the little parts and pieces can be taken out and cleaned. Maybe once a month

I love mine! Self emptying and anti hair wrap. I empty the docking unit around once per month. It also mops the hard floors when I swap the tank, usually run this once a week.

What one do you have please?

Thank you @FawnFrenchieMum

It has a voucher for £150 too! So tempted

Thank you @FawnFrenchieMum @Jumberoo @Lavendersummer @WeyAyeMan . I think I am convinced that it could be a useful tool, with the caveat of keeping it well maintained and emptied. I will keep an eye out in the Black Friday sales....

We got ours when our second child was about 5 months, I love it, but we do still tidy up for it. Lift chairs, footstools etc. You need to make sure trailing wires etc are not loose where the vacuum could get it.

BUT, it encourages us to be tidier, and then does the hoovering too, so its a win win in my book. We hoover every 2-3 days because we have kids and cats, it does a great job!

I love the Shark one (I haven't got one I hasten to add), but would struggle with the price.

I have a Eufy, which does it's thing every day. It's one that just bumbles around rather than using mapping but it's efficient in it's own little way. I empty it and de hair the roller about once a fortnight, which is perfectly ample.
