Hi all, my baby is 15months now and he's
Still not got his summer bedding it was just a basic duvet and pillow. I feel it's to thin now for winter as he keep waking at night and my bedroom (which he sleeps in) can sometimes get cold in the night.
I've been looking online for a thicker duvet but not finding anything for his cotbed just the same kinda thing he has now thin quilt? Anyone no where I can get a duvet thicker than he has now?
Much appreciated

Do you have a baby sleeping bag? That’s what I used when my dd was little and I think they are used by most people. These look great for a cold house:

I'd go for a wool or cashmere (don't panic, eBay have some very decent prices!) sleepsuit, with a winter-weight sleep sack over the top.

We always used sleep suits or sleeping bags. At 15 months sleep suits over his pyjamas. And we were living in Eastern Europe at the time. We had an oil filled radiator in his room which clicked on if the temp got too low. Like the night it got to -15 outside.

Maximum tog for a cotbed is 4.5tog
Maybe put more layers on him and maybe put a blanket on top

FlounderingFruitcake · 07/11/2022 14:30

Put him in a single bed and get a normal duvet. My toddler has 10.5 tog. It’s easier in a bed for them to get free if it if they get hot, which is why the cot ones are all lightweight.
Alternatively, if you’d rather not buy new furniture right now just layer up LO with a long sleeved vest under PJs and socks.

15 months is very young to be out of a cot
Just add layers to the child

FlounderingFruitcake · 07/11/2022 16:06

Oh I’d assumed by cotbed OP meant they had the bars off already; my youngest was a climber so couldn’t stay in the cot beyond 15 months either! If I have that wrong and it’s a larger size cot with the bars still on then definitely don’t rock the boat and switch to a bed just to get a heavier duvet, that would be mad, just layer the child!

Hi @Lou22000 Thanks for posting. Take a look at our guide to the best toddler duvet. The article was written with the help of recommendations from Mumsnet users and consumer reviews, so hopefully you will find it useful. Do let us know what you think.

Get another 4.5 duvet and put in the cover with the summer one.

Hello, you could try a 2.5 tog Hungarian goose down duvet, superlight and easy for temperature regulation
