Hoover, because it throws up dust.

So say dh who learned this crap in Officer Training and can clean a house to 'white glove' standard.

I go with the MN option myself

brimfull · 29/01/2008 09:31

right two different opinions

will get my white gloves out in a mo MB

What MB said. I remember reading it somewhere.

Blandmum · 29/01/2008 09:38

Oh no, not me. I'm ahousework slut. My dh.

He irons better than I do too!

Threadlice · 29/01/2008 09:39

But when you hoover, the dust is sucked up and when you dust, the dust is just moved about, so surely you need to suck it up afterwards? (Though I am an ignorant slattern)

Cappuccino · 29/01/2008 09:41

do whatever you can be bothered with

2sugarsagain · 29/01/2008 09:45

Or - even better - don't do any at all. Leave it for next week. You'll notice the fruits of your labours more

Smamfa · 29/01/2008 09:47

I read somewhere that you should start at the top of a room and move down. That's certainly what my cleaner does .

Iota · 29/01/2008 09:50

hoover one month

dust the following month

simple

LilRedWG · 29/01/2008 09:53

I'm with Cappucino on this one.

soontobealone · 29/01/2008 09:53

what EVERY month???

Iota · 29/01/2008 09:54

yes every month - don't be a slattern

MrsBadger · 29/01/2008 09:59

dust first, because the huge hairballs you swipe off bookcases etc end up on the carpet and need hoovering up

brimfull · 29/01/2008 10:16

well have hoovered first then cursory dust, don't want to get too carried away.

I like the monthly rota idea.

damn sunshine is now making my windows look depressing they're so filthy

mrs badger-not if you hoover the bookcases, and the grate, and the windowsills and the tables ..

OP posts:
LilRedWG · 29/01/2008 10:18

I'm lucky - no sunshine here, so I can't see how filthy my windows are
