How do you dry sheets and bedding burning winter?

Just this really, how do you dry sheets and bedding during winter if you don’t have a tumble dryer? Had anyone had success with line drying once winter sets in? I feel bad about not washing ours for ages as there’s just nowhere to dry them. We use a washing rack for the rest of our stuff but it’s always full and stuff takes a long time to dry. Flat is too small to fit another rack. How often do you wash bedding during winter?

Change every two weeks in winter.
Extra spin in washing machine.
Put some on heated airer and turn every so often.
Put some over bannisters.
If wood burner is lit, put in front of that on airer.

If it’s dry they go out and then finish off indoors. I hang them over the bannister and over the bedroom doors. Not ideal and I hate the house looking like Mrs Lather’s laundry all winter but no other choice.

I discovered 'teddy' sheets. They come out of the was nearly dry. Hang them over a clothes horse (old fashioned wooden one not heated....although I'm wondering about a heated clothes horse). They dry really fast. as soon as spring arrives, I'll be back to my cotton sheets.

Line dry on sunny, breezy days. We do seem to get them every couple of weeks.

Line dry as much as possible. I Don’t have a tumble dryer or heated airer. Stuff hung over bannisters if still damp. I have a small oil fired heater and will use an airer with that - but you need to keep an eye on it. Definitely wash sheets less often than in summer.

We have always dried stuff in the tumble drier or on radiators if they can’t spare be tumbled. This year, we have no money, so we can’t afford to use the tumble drier and the heating hasn’t been on. We don’t have bannisters and can’t afford a dehumidifier or heated airer. I am putting stuff on normal airers but it’s taking days to dry. If I opened windows, the house would be even colder! I use the outside whirlygig where possible, but it’s coming it cold and wet!

Am not looking forward to December/January.

Heated airer

Pulley maid hanging over the stairs catches the rising heat and we leave landing and bathroom windows open a crack for cross-ventilation. Dry pretty fast there. Love my pulley maid!

I don’t work for them btw, it’s just a great idea - sometimes the old solutions are the best ones.
