How to sort these tiles and bath??

Hi so I live in a rented place and the bathroom needs a bit of tlc. The majority of it fine but there's just one little section where the grout is like orange. I have tried cleaning it but all that happened was I have left streaks down my tiles and bath.

First question is do you know how I can clean the grout so that it's white again? Second questions how do I get this stain off the bath? Third question how do I get rid of these streak marks? Such a mess!

Very strong vinegar. It's limescale trapping mould. You can't scrub it off, you need to dissolve the limescale.

It will need time to dissolve. You can either apply little and often (through a spray bottle) over a period of several hours, or soak a cloth/tissues in the vinegar and leave it pressed against the yellow stain.

Years ago when i was living in a council property my bathroom and kitchen tiles both looked like that. I bought a tip ex pen and went over them all. It actually came up really well Grin

Viakal is really good for this.

I think the streaks is the colour of the clean tiles beneath the grime! Spray viakal on, leave it for a bit and then scrub really hard.

I'd dog the grout out an redo it. Easy enough, if messy job.

The streaks are where the cleaning products has worked. I'd try pink paste and elbow grease, scrubbing in a circular/figure of 8 motion on the tiles and bath. And then once all that is rinsed off, I'd use a thin bleach solution applied with a rag and rinsed off after it's been left on for an hour.

dig dig the grout out.

I don't get this anymore since DS and his Lynx left home. DH tends to have a bath so not as much splashing. I actually got rid of the orange grout stains by pouring neat thick bleach onto every grout line then scrubbed with an old toothbrush. Nearly gassed myself in the process.
Going forward (🥴) I have a squeegy and use it every time I have a shower and a very old (so thin and doesn't take long to dry) hand towel that I go over it with to dry it off completely. Window open for a least half an hour after every shower and bath.

HG mould remover. It’s amazing stuff. Gets rid of it very easily when other stuff (vinegar etc) hasn’t worked. It stinks though!

Personally, I'd bleach the grout and use a grout brush to really scrub the bleach in. Then leave and rinse after a few hours.

I'd use a mould spray for the black mould (though you may find the run off bleach from the grout also deals with this).

I'd use something like cif or pink stuff or barkeepers friend and elbow grease to really go at the bath and tile surfaces to clean the streaks.

Omg thanks everyone! Currently heading to the supermarket now to get some of that pink stuff and some more bleach

Bleach won't work. It's in the limescale.

Dishwasher tablets
Wet you tablet and rub it in the grout & leave it.
Fill you both with water and leave the rest of the tablet in there overnight

TossieFleacake · 03/11/2022 13:29

Either Pink stuff paste

Or

HG mould remover

And a lakeland sonic scrubber which is hands down, without a doubt, the best thing I have ever invested in for cleaning the bathroom.

Sugar soap spray and a scrubbing brush

Hi, I've moved into a new place with these tiles in photo, they are cold like stone. I'm not sure exactly what they are made of or what I can clean them with without damaging them, any ideas please?

Sorry meant to start a new thread, I'll go do that.

WashableVelvet · 04/11/2022 06:47

I mix water and near bleach 50/50 in a little bowl, dip bits of cotton wool or tissue or rag in, and stick them on the grout. They stay in place because they’re wet. Leave overnight. No elbow grease required.

WashableVelvet · 04/11/2022 06:47

*neat

Came to recommend this. It's amazing.

Take a deep breath, hold your nose and spray the affected area then leave the room and shut the door.

I always leave a window open or the fan on. In a couple of hours it will look like new
