Cleaning kitchen worktops

We’ve relatively recently moved into a house with white kitchen worktops, which seem to stain pretty easily. Since I don’t actually know what they’re made of, I’m not sure how best to clean them. Things like tomato sauce seem to wipe off well, but tea rings stain for example, and the area by the food bin is looking really bad… any advice on what products to use/try? I attach pic of the worktop… thank you!

Astonish, Specialist Clean & Revive (I get mine from Dunelm) is great at cleaning tea stains from mugs and teaspoons. It's a powder you add water to so perhaps you could make a light paste from it... If there's an inconspicuous area you can try it on first, that might be worth a try!

Impossible to advise really without knowing what they are made of.

The Astonish, Specialist Clean & Revive is only for use on:
“glazed ceramics, glass, stainless steel and plastic pots & flasks.”

So I would not try it on a worktop.

Barkeepers friend. Magic stuff.

That or the chalk paste stuff. Can't remember what it's called. Blush

Ahh, good spotting, I did look but couldn't see the 'only use on' part!

I use barkeepers friend in mine for coffee machine stains , metal marks etc and I have white quartz I think .

Thanks, okay maybe I’ll look at barkeeper’s friend first… I have no idea what they’re made of - I know it comes off in flakes if you chip it, which I managed to do with a bottle of bubbly by the edge of the sink…!

Another vote for bar keepers friend powder. Mix with a bit of water to make a paste . Try it on a hidden area first.

CIF is amazing stuff, on worktop stains.

The Pink Stuff in the tub - it's like a paste. Slap some on and rub it in a bit then wipe with a damp cloth.

Cif
