4 slice toasters - would you recommend yours?

I need a 4 slice toaster. Can't faff on with over designed ones that are liable to malfunction. It needs to have a removable crumb tray, automatic pop up and take wide slices of bread.

Can anyone recommend a product that's reliable, doesn't cost over £130ish and is simply designed?

I love my Dualit 4-slice, and some are available (John Lewis) for around £100. Nothing to go wrong on them really.

We have a dualit 4 toaster. It’s great! Been going for years. You can lift the bread up to see how it’s toasting too which is cool.

I have a Breville I’m happy with, but with your budget I’d look at Dualit.

I’ve got one from The Funky Appliance Company. Awful name for a business, but great toaster. It’s a beast but it evenly toasts anything.

Dualit… hate to say it but the best toaster we’ve had. Expensive but worth it.

I’ve tried better ones but I find Asda own brand is the only one that fits my bread!

Dualit 4 slice. Mine is still going strong after 13 years. It did develop a fault, which YouTube told be how to fix with a £11.64 part from Dualit. I the process of fixing it, the original part started working again and has gone for another 3 years since. I stashed the £11.64 part for the future!

Dualit are British made, very simply engineered so there's not a lot to go wrong, and they sell the pets so you can fix them yourselves with the help of a screw driver.

cuisinart for me.

seems relaible, probably the most compact 4-slice i could find and the only one that physically fits in our kitchen.

Another Dualit here - it’s lasted longer than my 14 year marriage and subsequent 9 year relationship, so well over 20 years old! It’s had a replacement element and a new timer switch during its lifetime but we’d got through 3 or 4 cheap ones prior to this so it’s probably paid for itself many times over now! I was hesitant to spend so much but it’s definitely a case of “you get what you pay for”.

Mine is from Aldi, its their own brand but from about 18 years ago, I bought one and boyfriend also got one, we're married now so one is in the attic, it's used daily, never gave trouble and was cheap to buy.

Mines a Tesco own brand. Cost about £20 6 years ago and is great.
