I followed Flylady when she first started out before the others came along. I looked at UYH and TOMM but found them confusing. Flylady is also very confusing if you look at her now. But her basic advice is golden and I've used it for years to keep on top of housework and life.
5 minute room rescues - set a timer and tody as much as you can in 5 mins - all the big offensive stuff can usually get sorted in 5 mins and it is so motivating. Unbvelievable how much better a messy room looks in just 5 mins.
15 mins to company-ready - that's a 5 minute room rescue followed by a 10 minute clean - hoover what's visible, dust what's visible, wipe surfaces, add somethig attractive and focal, as if someone is about to turn up to be entertained in that room
27 thing fling - chuck out 27 things, then stop. E.g. 5 used q-tips, 4 used interdental brushes, 3 empty shampoo and 2 empty shower gel bottles, 3 old rusty razors, 2 dried up nail polishes, 2 ancient samples of hand cream, 1 knackered body brush, 2 empty loo rolls, 3 used contact lens holders. (Did a list to point out you can out individual tiny things as one each.)
weekly 1-hour home blessing - divide areas of the home into 10 minute sections and just do what you can for 10 mins: strip the bed and put on fresh linen; quick hoover of living room and stairs, change bathroom towels, polish taps and scrub loo; empty all bins, quick wipe of kitchen surfaces. Not perfect but better than nothing, once a week.
Morning routine Put on a laundry load, fold yesterday's laundry, get dressed, hair, teeth done etc; feed kids and cat, make packed lunches. - 30 mins max.
After school routine - hang out morning laundry to dry; check school bags - empty packed lunch boxes, fill out forms, feed DC a snack and chat about their day, get dinner started - 30 mins
bedtime routine - get work bag and clothes ready. Repack DC's bags with them, checking if sports kit etc needed next day, and lay out uniform. Have a shower, clean teeth. 30 mins again
