Spice jar storage

Has anyone got one of these, and any comments on it?

I don't have masses and masses so 24 should be plenty.

Jars not included and I'd be putting supermarket type herb & spice jars on it - mainly Tesco & Aldi.
Looks like it would fit comfortably in a wall cupboard and improve organisation.

Or suggestions for your amazing spice jar storage.

I did try a inside cupboard door rack, but didn't like how the jars rattled when the door was opened/closed.

What about a masala dabber?

Chasingsquirrels · 01/10/2022 21:08

All the spices and herbs I've got (mainly tesco & aldi) already have labels on the lids - presumably for this and spice drawer purposes. So no additional labeling needed.

Also a big fan of the sainsburys jars. Colour coded, clearly labelled and on the lids too, nice and wide to get a teaspoon in and easy to refill. They nailed it!

My fantastic dad fitted CD shelves hanging under all my wall mounted kitchen shelves. Perfect for spice jars. Genius idea of his. And an incredible colour match.

A drawer here too. With the spices & herbs in alphabetical order

This is my set up too. Works with different brand bottles, there's space along side for miscellaneous things like my nutmeg grater and mustard tin etc.

I've got a shelf thing that hangs on the side of cupboard/the fridge. Herbs on the top shelf in alphabetical order. Spices on the next 2.

I also buy them from Sainsburys and then refill the jars. Bags of refills are in a plastic tub in the cupboard.

DelilahBucket · 01/10/2022 21:20

I used to have something like this. Now I just have tubs from IKEA and organise the pots into herbs, whole slices, ground spices etc. It's actually much easier.

I’m not keen on the spice rack in the OP as it looks like it is a metal mesh material which, in our kitchen, would get sticky with oil and steam from the cooking. It would be the sort of stickiness that would be impossible for me to clean when I eventually remembered to do it.

That's a good point, but I'm planning to store it in the cupboard so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Neo® 36pc Chrome 6 Tier Spice Rack Jar Holder for Wall or Kitchen Cupboard amzn.eu/d/7RwnGy3

I have something similar to this but 4 tier. Mine is also freestanding but I've recently (after about 7yrs!) wall mounted it!

We have a whole tallboy-style chest of drawers for spices (one of our lock down projects). It has 5 drawers, each about 20x20x20cm. We use a variety of different glass jars and label the lids.

Drawer 1 - main cooking spices
Drawer 2 - baking spices
Drawer 3 - more cooking spices
Drawer 4 - Other baking stuff (bicarb, cupcake cases etc)
Drawer 5 - random stuff (large box of fenugreek powder that I hardly use, spare porcini mushrooms bought at Lidl when on offer).

It sounds OTT I know, but it's so handy.

I use this. I'm short and it helps me make use of the top shelf

I bought it almost 8 years ago! (My amazon page just told me! - What happened to the last 8 years)
