Does the water go bubbly/sudsy with soapnuts at all? Mine didnt. And the intructions said that while wet, if you squeeze them and they foam slightly then they can be used again. Mine dont after 1 wash...

DD wrestling me away from pc to make cookies, but will be back soon to check and replies! Oh, I used 6 half shells for half load (hard water area)

The water doesnt go bubbly in my machine when I use them. I can tell they've been used though as the texture of the nuts changes, depending on how many washes they've done. Did you washing smell nice when it came out ?

Lmccrean · 24/01/2008 20:33

no, it smelt of um water.. which is miles better than the vomit they smelt of going in...

Do you set them out to dry (windowsill or whatever) between washes? Need to do another load now..

I think you are supposed to keep them damp, I try and have a "washing day" and do several loads, so I can wear the soap nuts out, and compost them after consecutive washes. If I do keep them for a day or so, they still seem to work fine, even if they've dried out.

you may need to use more in a hard water area at low temperatures. Mine don't really bubble with hard as nails thame water but the clothes are def softer when they dry.
