Washing pods

I've recent switched to washing pods from powder to try and reduce waste which is working as they don't need any fabric softener, smell nice and clean well but how do you stop them being "spat out" from the washing load.

I put them in the machine first in the middle of the drum washing on top and almost every single time after a few turns it get stuck between the seal and the door and I have to add extra water to dissolve it. Today I put it in the middle of the washing....still happened!
What am I doing wrong?

I don't understand how they reduce waste - they're hugely wasteful in the resources they use - all that plastic instead of a cardboard box. Powder doesn't need fabric conditioner either. Don't have an answer for your question other than placing it in one of those mesh bags I use for baby socks and bras with underwires.

Mine are delivered in a recyclable cardboard box.

Yes, I get that - but all that plastic encasing each spoonful of liquid in each pod, and then the whole lot in more packaging, albeit cardboard whereas powder just comes in that box.

And when you put it in the drum, powder dissolves in the water rather than sitting between the door and the seal.

Mine say to put the pod underneath the washing - always seems to work for me.
