Drying shoes

Wasn't quite sure where to post this, but thought here might be my best bet! Thinking ahead to wet weather and my son's walk to and from his new school. How to dry his school shoes and pe trainers quickly, ready for the next day?? I've seen some electric shoe warmer/dryer things that you slide into shoes, on Amazon. Do they work? We don't have an airing cupboard and drying them on radiators doesn't seem to work so well, presumably because the heat doesn't reach the inside well/quickly enough. Plus, with heating bills in mind, I might not have the heating on much this winter.....

Stuff them with newspaper and put them
on a window cill, with the window on vent for a bit of a breeze.
Or, if you use the oven, once it’s switched off, put them in the cooling oven with the door open.
A hair dryer for a quick blast of hot air also works well. Although I’ve no idea regarding cost of using a hairdryer. (Don’t have one).

We have one of the shoe dryers for football boots - works brilliantly but makes the house smell like stinky football boots when it's on!

Stuff them with newspaper and put them on a warm radiator, change the newspaper as needed

Thanks. Newspaper sounds like it's worth a try, I've not done that before. Although good to hear the shoe dryers do actually work. I might have to get some.
