Rotary washing line

I need to get one of these for the garden as I can't manage my washing line anymore (quite a steep slope and my knees aren't up to it now). I really need it for larger items like bedding and towels as I can usually dry most things indoors. I think it would need to be concreted in - is that right? And it can be very windy at the back of our house, so something quite robust. Any recommendations?

Thanks @TwinkleToesStrikesAgain I do worry that it might blow over though - I presume yours doesn't? What make is it?

The spikes are really long and quite hard to get in the ground. They are designed to secure a fully loaded line, so shouldn't blow over. I have a brabantia line and the associated spike and it is solid as a rock.

An alternative might be to replace your existing line with one on pulleys - I can stand my the back door and hang all my washing out just my moving the line along as I go.

In a previous house, we had a rotary line - much tidier, but everything took much longer to dry. Well, maybe not everything - whatever is on the outside fares better. We had the biggest Brabantia line - cost an eye-watering amount - and like PP, used a spike just driven into the ground.

@Cynderella I was looking for a pulley system but couldn't find one that suited - which one do you have?

We made our own using pulley wheels etc from Amazon - it's not a thing of beauty, but very practical. I found some videos on youtube that explained the set up. I did find one company that supplied a kit. Will look now ... here it is.

Ah - now I remember the problem. Because the garden is on a slope it would mean having a super-high post, I couldn't see how to make it work. I was disappointed because it would have been ideal.

Top tip - never buy a house with a sloping garden!

I bought this one for our new place on the basis of this review (as well as many others) definitely a mumsnetter!
